CILICIA, Soloi. Balakros, Satrap of Cilicia, (333-323 B.C.), silver stater (10.890 gm). obv. Baaltars seated left, holding lotus-tipped sceptre, grain-ear and grape-bunch to left, helmet above B to right, **S* below throne, dotted border, rev. Draped bust of Athena facing slightly left, wearing triple-crested helmet and necklace, dotted border, (S.5617, BMC 72 [p.174], cf.SNG Levante 53; cf.SNG France 198; cf.SNG von Aulock 5873). Good very fine.
