SEVERUS ALEXANDER, (A.D.222-235), silver denarius, issued 225, Rome mint, (3.02 grams), obv. laureate head to right, around IMP SEV ALE XAND AVG, rev. VIRTVS AVG, Virtus standing to left, resting on spear and shield holding Victory, (S.7936, RIC 220, RSC 579). Toned, extremely fine.
