MAXIMUS AS CAESAR, (A.D. 235-238), AE sestertius, (17.41 grams), Rome mint, issued 235-6, obv. C IVL VERVS MAXIMVS CAES, bare headed draped bust to right of Maximus, rev. PRINCIPI IVVENTVTIS, Maximus standing left, holding rod and spear, with two standards set in ground behind, S C across, (S.8410 [Å‣170 VF], RIC 9, BMC 123, C.12). Fine/nearly fine, scarce, lot with Boyd ticket.
