Sapper Henry Thompson,aged 25,was born at Lancaster, England and had 5-year's service with 5th Border Regiment (Territorials). On enlistment on 10 March 1916 he was working as a cooper and lived at Moore Park in Sydney. He embarked aboard HMAT Ajana which left Sydney on 5 July 1916 and returned to Australia on 24 August 1918. He was awarded the MM for bravery in the field in France on 27 October 1917. L.G. 28 January 1918, p.1404 and C.G. No 95 on 27 June 1918, p.1391. He was WIA on 18 June 1918.
