Served in Headquarters 1 Australian Logistic Support Group. No record of Purple Heart in Sometimes Forgotten by Frederick Kirkland OAM but it was common practice for a clerk in the US Field Hospital to record the names of all wounded admitted to the hospital onto the Purple Heart list and no other documentation was issued. Sometimes the medal was actually given at the hospital. Ex Tom Hanley Collection.
