PAIR: Vietnam Medal; South Vietnam Campaign Medal. 19993 V.T.Salmon. The first medal impressed with the last nine overstamped during naming, the second medal engraved. Very fine.

Lt Victor Terrence Salmon, an Army pilot, served in Vietnam with 161 (Independent) Reconnaissance Flight, the Possums, a unit of the Australian Aviation Corps from 27 May 1966 to 23 April 1967. He was the first Australian participant in an exchange programme with the US 54th Aviation Company. Together with a miniature pair without ribbons on the Vietnam Medal missing suspender and ribbon on the South Vietnam Campaign Medal. Accompanied by a scanned photo of recipient with senior Australian and US officers at the 54th Aviation Company base camp in Vietnam. Ex Tom Hanley Collection.
