WWI POSTCARDS. An assortment of postcards sent by 2367 Private Hamilton McLachlan 34th Battalion A.I.F.to his mother. Pte McLachlan was awarded the Military Medal, Mention in Despatches, and French Medal of Honour - Bronze for war services. The cards include a Field Service Post Card, two Australian Comforts Fund cards as well as three photos of McLachlan with his Army tent mates, a battlion group photo and an ANZAC Day reunion photo. On his return to Australia he became a police officer and later was awarded the Imperial Service Medal. An interesting lot to an Australian war hero. Very fine. (15)
