RUSSIA, Alexander III (1881-1894). silver zolotnik Affinage Ingot (4.28 grams). St. Petersburg mint, obv. crowned double-headed imperial eagle facing with wings displayed, holding sceptre and orb, coat-of-arms of Moskva, rev. legend in four lines, finess of 990 indicated, plain edge, (Bitkin 262, Sev.3208). Nearly extremely fine and very scarce.

These ingots were used to repay gold mine owners who supplied gold to the mint.
