FRANCE, Anne of Brittany, uniface cast bronze metal, 110mm, a fine cast modern copy of the reverse of the famous Louis XII and Anne of Brittany medal of 1499, obv. blank, rev. Anne wearing the royal crown, against a background of fleurs-de-lys to left and ermines to right, legend around with lion of Lyon at the 6.00 position. Dated 1499 at the end of the legend. Very fine.

Mark Jones "A Catalogue of the French Medals in the British Museum", (Volume 1, AD 1402-1610) has noted eleven original two sided medals which all measured between 112-115mm.
