GEORGE III, new coinage 1816-20, proof-like crown, 1818 LVIII (S.3787, ESC 211). Even grey and deep blue tone, golden peripheral highlights, a cameo gem FDC and rare thus.
Ex Parsons Collection sold Sotheby's, London October 1929, (lot 693) were it was claimed to be a proof. Lot also with a ticket stating that Baldwin claims it is not a proof. Ex Allan Sutherland Collection and Noble Numismatics Sale 70 (lot 1826).
