KUSHAN EMPIRE, Vasu Deva III, (c.A.D. 360-365), gold stater, (7.910 grams), obv. king standing, head turned left, holding sceptre in left hand, sacrificing with right hand over altar, trident above altar, legend around, rev. goddess Ardoksho seated facing on throne, holding cornucopiae, symbol to left, to right degenerate legend APDOXPO, (Gobl 574, M.3546). Nearly extremely fine and very scarce.
From this reign onwards the Kushan coinage type does not change. The rulers name is on the right of the king's staff, in the Brahmi script. Additional letters, of uncertain meaning are found in various places on the obverse field.
