WORLD GLOBE MEDAL 1815, in white metal (74mm), unsigned, attributed to Birmingham England, possibly by Sir Edward Thomason (Rulau.9; Eimer.1135). Edge bump, otherwise good fine and rare.

The English Maritime Museum ascribes the medal's date to 1798, based upon the labeling of Hawaii and Australia. Appears to be based upon maps prepared by English mapmaker J.Wilkes about 1807. Hawaii is shown as the Sandwich Islands. Australia is shown as New Holland and Van Diemens Land.
