HOOKER, Sir Joseph, Wedgwood portrait medallion (102mm x 130mm), oval bas relief profile portrait on blue jasper ground, applied white relief. Extremely fine.

Joseph Hooker was perhaps the most important science figure of the 19th century after Charles Darwin. He was involved in important South Pacific expeditions with numerous published related works.
