TIBERIUS, (A.D. 14-37), silver denarius, Rome mint, issued A.D. 14-37, (3.77 grams), obv. laureate head of Tiberius to right, around TI CAESAR DIVI [AVG F AVGVSTVS], rev. PONTIF MAXIM, Livia seated to right, with vertical sceptre and branch, (S.1763, RIC 30, BMC 48). Rough porous surface with some horn silver, otherwise very fine and scarce.

Of Biblical importance as the issue is often described as the Tribute Penny (Mark 12: 14-17).
