MAXIMINUS II AS CAESAR, (A.D. 309-313), AE folles, issued 308-310 Cyzicus mint, (7.22 grams), obv. laureate head to right, around GAL VAL MAXIMINVS NOB C, rev. VIRTVTI E XERCITVS, in exergue MKV, Mars advancing right, naked but for floating chlamys, holding transverse spear and trophy over shoulder, **D* in left field, (cf.S.3757, RIC 49). Extremely fine, scarce.
