HADRIAN, (A.D. 117-138), silver denarius, issued 124, Rome mint, (2.676 grams), obv. laureate head to right of Hadrian, drapery on left shoulder, around IMP CASEAR TRAIAN H ADRIANVS AVG, rev. P M TR P COS III around, AETER AVG across, Aeternitas standing to left holding heads of sun and moon, (cf.S.3458, RIC 115, BMC 240, RSC 131). Toned, good very fine/nearly very fine, a scarce variant.
Ex Patrick Cooper Collection with his ticket and previously from Amphira Coins, April 1093. The Reka Devnia hoard of 81,044 silver coins contained 5892 coins of Hadrian, it contained 38 coins of this type.
