GORDIAN III, (A.D. 238-244), silver denarius, Rome mint, issued 241-2, (2.772 grams), obv. laureate bust right, around IMP GORDIANVS PIVS FEL AVG, rev. SALVS AVGVSTI, around, Salus standing to right, holding and feeding a snake in her arms, (S.8681, RIC 129A, RSC 325). Extremely fine.
