SOMERSETSHIRE, Wednesbury, Abel Round's penny, 1812 bare headed and draped bust of George III right/Royal Exchange building (Davis 116), halfpennies, similar (Davis 117 normal cord milling, another with diagonal milling to right, (illustrated)); West Bromwich and Coseley, James Cooksey's penny, 1812 (legend both sides (Davis 118); West Bromwich Oldbury, Tipton & Brieley, W. Whitehouse & Co.'s penny, 1811, legend both sides (Davis 120). Very fine-good extremely fine, 117 diagonally grained is proof-like and rare thus. (5)
Ex W.J. Noble Collection, Sale 58B (lot 1913) previously the first three ex S.V. Hagley Collection, fourth from Dolphin Coins in 1997 and the last acquired in 1960's.
