CEYLON, George III, pattern rix dollar, 1812, in silver by Thomas Wyon Junior (Pr.254; KM.Pr3; illustrated Forrer VI, 645). Attractive grey toned, brilliant FDC and excessively rare.

Ex Robert Climpson Collection, Noble Numismatics Sale 85 (lot 2279), previously from the Spink Numismatic Circular 1931, column 232, no. 68 and R. J. Ford Collection (lot 244) and as the previous lot ex Cholmley (lot 393), Murdoch (lot 268) and Nobleman (lot 158). The only other pair known to the cataloguer is from Farouk (lot 2369).
