ITALY, Lucania, Velia, (350-281 B.C.), silver stater, (7.44 grams), obv. head of Athena to left wearing crested Athenian helmet ornamented with Pegasos, IE within square frame, A above, rev. lion pulling down stag to left, trace of legend upper right, (S.461, Williams Period IX, 552, [Obv.278, rev.387], SNG Ash 1400). Off centred obverse, otherwise very fine or better.
