ITALY, Bruttium, Croton (Kroton), silver stater or nomos, c.520-500 B.C., 7.05 grams, obv. Delphic tripod, with three handles, and legs terminating in lion's feet, with two serpents emerging from the base, to left legend QPO upwards, rev. Incuse Delphic tripod with three handles, (cf.S.255, SNG ANS 239, Attianese 3 [p.25], BMC 3 [p.342], cf.SNG Cop. 1741). Piece of edge broken off, pitting on reverse, otherwise nearly very fine.
