EGYPT, Kingdom of, Ptolemy II, Philadelphos, (285-246 B.C.), AE 23, (10.32 grams), Alexandria mint, obv. head of Alexander the Great to right, caul in elephant scalp and aegis, rev. eagle to left with open wings, standing on thunderbolt, around **BASILEWS PTOLEMAIOU*, E between legs, (cf.S.7788, Sv. 450, SNG Milan 95, Koln 31). Attractive green patina, very fine.
