Q. MARCIUS PHILIPPUS, (129 B.C.), silver denarius, Rome mint, (3.71 grams), obv. Roma helmeted head right, * behind, rev. Macedonian horseman to right, Q.PHILIPVS below, ROMA in exergue; (S.135 [ú60 VF], Cr.259/1, Syd.477). Good very fine and scarce.

Ex Raoul Phillips Collection and CNG Mail Bid Sale 61, September 25, 2002 (lot 1229) being from the Tony Hardy Collection. The coin refers to Q. Marcius Philippus who campaigned against Perseus in 169 B.C. He was an ambassador to Philip V.
