CLAUDIUS, (A.D. 41-54), silver denarius, Rome mint, issued A.D. 46-47, (3.58 grams), obv. laureate head of Claudius to right, around TI CLAVD CAESAR AVG P M TR P VI IMP XI, rev. DE BRITANN on architrave of triumphal arch surmounted by equestrian statue left, holding spear between two trophies, (cf.S.1843, RIC 34, BMC 35, RSC 18). Some surface pitting on the reverse and edge faults, otherwise good fine and rare.
