SEPTIMIUS SEVERUS, (A.D. 193-211), silver denarius, Rome mint, issued A.D. 193-5, (2.42 grams), obv. laureate head of Septimius Severus to right, around IMP CAE L SEP SEV PERT AVG, rev. around LIBERAL AVG COS, Liberalitas holding abacus and cornucopiae, (cf.S.6305, RIC 18, RSC 281); another Rome mint, issued A.D. 195, (3.616 grams), obv. laureate head of Septimius Severus to right, around L SEPT SEV PERT AVG IMP V, rev. around PART ARAB TR P VI COS II P P, two captives seated back to back with hands tied behind, trophy between, (cf.S.1767, RIC 63, RSC 365). Good fine - very fine, both scarce. (2)
