SEPTIMIUS SEVERUS, (A.D. 193-211), silver denarii, Rome mint, issued A.D. 198, (3.03 grams), obv. laureate head of Septimius Severus to right, rev. around MARTI PACIFERO, (S.6311, RIC 113, RSC 315); another issued A.D. 195 (2.93 grams), obv. similar, rev. P M TR P III COS II P P, Mars right, (S.6327, RIC 52, RSC 396); another, Laodicea mint, A.D. 195-6, (1.73 grams), obv. similar, rev. as above, Fortuna standing left, holding rudder on globe, (cf.S.6330, RIC 104, RSC 442). Short on flan as usual for emergency war-time issues, otherwise fine - very fine. (3)
