Private Allan Young, age 20, member of 73 Infantry (Victorian Rangers) militia, AIF Enl.07Aug1915, to 20th Castlemaine Training Battalion (C Coy) 13Aug1915 - 28Sep1915 and transfer to 14 Battalion, Emb.23Nov1915, 06Mar1916 to 46Bn, KIA 14Nov1916 in the field France, buried at Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, France. Together with memorial fob in gold (9ct, 5.0gms) inscribed, 'In memory of / Pte. A. Young / Died on Service / 14/11/16 / from / Greendale Residents'.
