CHARLES I, (1625 - 1649), Tower mint under king, silver crown, mm portcullis, issued 1633-4, Group III, type 3b, (29.85 grams), rev. plumes over shield, harp of eight strings with bird’s head, (S.2759 [this coin illustrated in 16th and other editions], N.2196, Cooper XIV/XVIII, Brooker 253 [same dies]). Toned, round and attractive, weak in places otherwise very fine and rare.
