SWEDEN, Stockholm’s Enskilda Bank, memorial medal to Wallenberg family, 1956, in silver (64mm) (120gms) edge impressed ’Sporrong & Co’. Brushed, good very fine.

The Wallenberg family, renowned as bankers and industrialists are one of the most influential and wealthy families in Sweden, supposedly controlling indirectly up to one third of the Swedish gross domestic product. The Enskilda Bank was founded by Andr‚ Oscar Wallenberg and then under the control of Knut Agathon Wallenberg and later Marcus Wallenberg, all three being commemorated on this medal.
