Richard Nixon, the subject of the Watergate scandal and 36th President is the only U.S. President to resign from office. He did this on 9 August 1974. His running partner, Spiro Agnew was the first Greek American to hold the office of Vice-President and the only U.S. Vice-President to resign as a result of criminal charges, these relating to bribery.
