ANCIENT ROMAN, bone stylus (a writing utensil), length 97mm., 1st - 3rd century A.D. Fine, very scarce with certificate.

Ex Mark and Susan Marshan Collection. The word stylus along with the word "style" came from the Latin word stilus meaning: "a stake; a pointed instrument", used by the Romans, for writing upon wax tablets.
