GROUP OF FIVE: The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, Officer (OBE) (Type 1) Military; Burma Star; Defence Medal 1939-45; War Medal 1939-45; New Zealand War Service Medal. All medals unnamed. A few verdigris spots on obverse of last medal otherwise very fine.

Together with I.D. discs in fibre to Capt. T.E.Palmer I.M.S.; miniature OBE; official case for OBE; NZRN enamel badge, reverse engraved ’B.Palmer / 258 / Dunedin’; WWII medal delivery box; newspaper cut-outs with photo on award of OBE and silver medal; British Legation Guard medal in silver, 1936, presented by the British Communities at Addis Ababa to commemorate services rendered, engraved to ’Captain T.E.Palmer’, relates to the occupation of Addis Ababa by the Italians during their invasion of Abyssinia. Captain Trevor E. Palmer, formerly of Wellington, New Zealand, serving with the Indian Medical Service (I.M.S.) was awarded an OBE, Military Division, in the Coronation honours list for India. He was stationed at the British Legation at Addis Ababa during the Abyssinian War. At an Armistice Day service held at St Martin’s Church, Jhansi, India, the Station Commander took the salute and then presented a silver medal to Captain Palmer for gallantry on the frontier.
