MINIATURE GROUP, Group of Seven: The Most Distinguished Order of St Michael and St George (Companion) (CMG); Queen’s South Africa Medal 1899 - three clasps - Rhodesia, Cape Colony, Transvaal; King’s South Africa Medal - two clasps - South Africa 1901, South Africa 1902; 1914-15 Star; British War Medal 1914-18; Victory Medal 1914-19; Colonial Auxiliary Forces Officer’s Decoration (EVIIR). Swing mounted, the first with incorrect ribbon, all other ribbons original, medals extremely fine contemporary issues.
Attributed to Colonel Alfred Hobart Sturdee, AAMC. Son of Captain Sturdee RN; educated at King’s College Hospital, London; left England for Australia, 1886; served South Africa, 1900-2, QSA 3 clasps, KSA 2 clasps, Despatches; European War, Gallipoli (Anzac), Egypt, France, 1914-18 Despatches (3), CMG; Principal Medical Officer 3rd MD (Victoria); son, Lt-Colonel Vernon Ashton Hobart Sturdee DSO, OBE.
