COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA 1901, Victoria, pass in gold (15ct, 7gms, 19mm x 32mm oval) (C.1901/11), inscribed on reverse 'The Hon D.Melville M.L.C.'; Visit of the United States Naval Fleet, 1908, in gold (15ct, 8.2gms, 22mm x 38mm) and red, white and blue enamel, by Stokes, obverse, United / States / of / America / Navy / Celebration / Reception / Vic / Aug / 1908, reverse, State of Victoria Coat of Arms and inscribed 'Hon.D.Melville M.L.C.'. Extremely fine - FDC and extremely rare as a pair.

Donald Melville was a Member of the Legislative Council from 1882-1919 and was Minister for Defence before Federation when it became a Commonwealth responsibility.
