AUSTRALIAN RED CROSS SOCIETY, B.R.C.S. certificate for good service rendered to the Red Cross Society during the Great War 1914-1919 signed by Helen Munro Ferguson, named to Miss Rossiter 1915, features a kneeling soldier and sailor, rifles ready, and standing nurse around the symbol of the Society. A few edge tears and creasing at right edge, fine and scarce.
Lady Helen Munro Ferguson was the wife of the Governor-General, Sir Ronald Munro Ferguson. She established the Australian Red Cross Society in 1914 as a branch of the British Red Cross Society. By November 1914 it had 88 city or suburban branches and 249 country branches.
