LETTER ENVELOPE, Liverpool Ja 18, 1838 to Lieut Col C.Bentinck, Coldstream Guards, Orderly Room, Horse Guards, London, from Daniel William relating to refusal of credit for goods to be sent to the British Colony of Demerara; Burma, Engineer Second Class, Certificate of Competency, 5 Oct 1919, stamp of the Burma Boiler Commission, Rangoon, photo of recipient affixed with signature across. Sharp, clean postmarks on letter envelope, very fine. (2)

The Bentinck name is prominent in the military and peerage. Henry William Bentinck was Lieutenant Governor of Demerara from 8 May 1806 - February 1812. No doubt there is a family connection to Lt Col C Bentinck.
