PELOPONNESOS, Argolis, Argos, silver Hemidrachm, or Attic triobol, 80's - 50's B.C. (2.25 grams), Obv. Forepart of wolf at bay to left, Rev. A with I - E/ P - **W* either side at top, with eagle with closed wings on thunderbolt and **R O S* below, all within shallow incuse square, (cf.S.2794, BCD 1177 [p.281, LHS 96], BMC 114-115 [p.145]). Extremely fine and rare.
