M. CAECILIUS, Q.f. Q.n. Metellus, (127 B.C.), silver denarius, Rome mint, (3.690 grams), obv. Roma helmeted head right, * below chin, ROMA downwards behind, rev. Macedonian shield on which is an elephant's head, all within wreath, M.METELLVS Q.F. around, (S.139 [Å“55 VF], Cr.263/1b, Syd.480a, RSC Caecilia 29a). Toned, very fine/nearly very fine and scarce.

Only 44 obverse dies was used for this coinage according to Crawford.
