SOUTHLAND TREASURY NOTE, five pounds, un-issued, Payable at the Treasury, Invercargill, not dated 18- (c.1865), No.-, imprint of Fergusson and Mitchell, Dunedin( Robb.PTU.16b; Sutherland 255 [p.184]). Creases, with pin holes at left, very fine and excessively rare.

Sutherland (p.184) suggests 1863-?. They were issued by the Provisional Government of Southland.
