NETHERLANDS, naval commemorative handerchief (210mm x 205mm), hand painted image of war ship and decorated with flowers and gold woven thread applied fouled anchor and message to commemorate ship's trip to Gibraltar and the Azores, 1937. Very fine.
The ship is flying the Dutch tricolour flag of red, white and blue, which only became the official flag of the Netherlands in 1937, the same year of the ship's trip.
