THRACE, Deultum, Tranquillina, wife of Gordian III, (A.D. 238-244), AE 23, (5.825 grams), obv. Tranquillina draped bust to right, around SAB, TRANQVILLINA AVG, rev. Demeter to left, wearing chiton, holding sceptre and corn ears, around COL FL PA C DEVLT, (cf.S.3810, BMC -, Jurukova "Die Munzpragung von Deulton", [Berlin 1973] No.388 [p.122, Pl.23, 388]). Dark green patina, very fine and very rare, comes with collector's card description.

Ex Cappenalle Collection and from Noble Numismatics Auction Sale 90 (lot 3260). Jurukova knew of only three examples two being in private collections.
