SYRIA, Kingdom of, Demetrius I, (162-150 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.56 grams), Antioch mint, issued period 162-156 B.C., obv. diademed head of Demetrius to right within laurel wreath border, rev. Tyche seated to left with leg of throne a winged monster, holds sceptre and cornucopiae, to right **BASILEWS*, to left **DH MHTRIOU*, **P*I monogram in exergue, (S.7014, SC 1638.2a, Newell SMA 84 [Plate V], BMC 34). Good very fine, scarce.
