EGYPT, Kingdom of, Ptolemy I, (323-283 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, issued 305-283 B.C., Meydanncikkale Hoard dates (13.90 grams) Alexandria mint, obv. diademed head of Ptolemy I to right, with aegis, **D* behind, rev. eagle to left with closed wings, standing on thunderbolt, in front P over monogram MY**P*, around **BASILEWS [PTOLEMAIOU]*, (S.7762, Sv. 253, cf.SNG Cop. 69); other silver of Thrace, Byzantion, silver tetrobol c.357-340 B.C., (S.1582); Ionia, Miletus, (c.530-510 B.C.), silver twelfth stater, obv. forepart of lion and legs to left, rev. star ornamented within incuse square, (S.3533, BMC 34); Thrace, Cherronesos, (400-350 B.C.), silver hemidrachm, (2.284 grams), obv. forepart of lion looking back, rev. pellet and E in one quarter, fish in opposite corner, (cf.S.1602, cf.BMC 23); Euboia, Histiaia, (mid 4th century B.C.), silver tetrobol, obv. nymph Histiaia head to right wreathed with vine leaves, hair rolled, rev. nymph Histiaia seated to right on galley with stylis, legend **ISTI to left, to upper left, AIE**W*N, aplustre on galley, (S.2495, cf,SNG Cop.517ff); Ionia, Teos, silver hemiobol, obv. griffin seated right, rev. quadripartite incuse square, (S.-, SNG Cop. 1442); Phoenicia, Tyre, (c.332-306 B.C.), silver didrachm, obv. Melqarth to right, riding on hippocamp, waves and dolphin below, rev. owl standing to r., carrying crook and flail under wing all within cable border, (S.5915, Traite 1016 Pl.122, 25). First coin with graffiti on reverse and banker's marks, others fair - very fine and with collector's packet and dealer descriptions. (7)
