ANONYMOUS SERIES, (225-212 B.C.), silver didrachm (quadrigatus), (6.44 grams), Uncertain mint (possibly Rome), obv. laureate janiform head of the Dioscuri, border of dots, rev. Jupiter in quadriga to right, driven by Victory, Jupiter holds sceptre and hurls thunderbolt, in exergue ROMA incuse on solid tablet, (S.31, Cr.28/3, Syd. 65, RSC 23). Delightful patination on the reverse, good very fine and scarce, with collector's packet description.
