GALBA, (A.D. 68-69), AE sestertius, Rome mint, issued 68, (19.46 grams), obv. laureate draped bust of Galba to left, around SER GALBA IMP CAES AVG, dotted border, rev. in oak wreath in three lines, SPQR / OB / CIV SER, (cf.S.2125, RIC 269, Kraay 278). Green patination, heavily pitted on surface, otherwise nearly very fine and very scarce with collector's card description.
Ex Cappenalle Collection and from the collection of Charles E. Weber, sold Noble Numismatics Sale 79 (lot 3601) and from Platz March 16, 1981.
