CARACALLA, (A.D. 198-217), silver denarius, issued 201, Rome mint, (3.27 grams), obv. laureate draped bust to right of Caracalla, around ANTONINVS PIVS AVG, rev. Caracalla standing naked to left, holding globe and spear, RECTOR ORBIS around, (S.6880, RSC 542, RIC 39a). Dark tone, minor flan crack, good very fine and scarce.
