MACEDON, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (17.14 grams), Tyre mint, issued 305-290 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with dotted border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, to left complex monogram, **UDY* monogram in circle below throne, **ALEXANDROU* to right, (cf.S.6713, Price 3534, BMC -, M -). Nearly extremely fine.
