MAMLUKS, al-Zahir abu Sa'id Timurburgha, (A.H. 872-873) (A.D. 1467-1468), gold ashrafi or dinar, Cairo mint, A.H. 872-3? = A.D. 1467-1468, obv. & rev. four lines of legend divided by three horizontal cables to l., (A.1024, Balog 801). Nearly extremely fine and very rare.

ex Glendining's London Nov. 21, 1979 (lot 96 part). Balog records only four gold coins for this ruler are known, and further notes that all his coins in all metals are very rare.
