CEYLON, (Sri Lanka), collection of seals, sealings and coin moulds, housed in a specially made wooden box, holding each item, the products of ancient Ruhuna, produced from the 3rd century B.C. - 7th century A,D., noted mould for the series of standing Lakshmi with handle (illustrated); others feature animals (mostly cows), another with swastica, a diverse range of shapes similar to examples noted in Osmund Bopearachchi and Ralph Wickremesinhe book "Ruhuna, an Ancient Civilisation Re-Visited, Numismatic and Archaeological Evidence on Inland and Maritime Trade", 1999, 149pp, 36 plates etc. Fine - very fine and all very scarce.
