WWI TRENCH ART, letter openers (2) in style of Arabic daggers, made from bullets, cartridge cases and copper and brass plate, one with blade engraved, '4-10-17 / ZONNEBEKE', also a WWI medal pair (copies), WWI Discharge Certificate for Pte A.E.Harris 50 Bn AIF and a variety of post war papers and documents as well as a studio portrait in uniform for Harris and a tape recording of his funeral service; also other family connected documents including Certificate of Discharge and other papers for his son Lance Sgt A.Harris, New Guinea Force Training School and Xmas Menu 1944 for the NG Training School with handwritten nominal roll and individual signatures (probably unique). Some water damage otherwise fine - very fine. (lot)

Pte Albert Edward Harris attested 19Jul1916 at 15 years 125 days, served 1 year 51 days abroad, discharged 14Jan1918 at 16 years 176 days as being under military age. Zonnebeke was in the area of the Battle of Broodseinde fought on 04Oct1917, the last successful attack of the Battle of Passchendaele.
